Hi Baseballcard Community.

It's april and I write my first post this year. It's my late first look at Topps series one.

I bought some packs over ebay an paid 16 dollar for the packs and 12 for shipping ^^

That's the sad reason for not buying packs or boxes every week.

2011 Topps Chrome - Hobby Packs

Heeeey fellas, 2 weeks ago I ordered 5 hobby packs of 2011 Topps Chrome.
They arrived 2 days ago. Now thats my first year of collecting and I knew topps chrome only by scans.

In real it's a lot better. It looks fantastic but I bet you know this ...

Let's see :

When you look at the scans the glance on the cards is hard to imagine.

I think Topps does a bad job by selling the same photo

over and over and OVER ... I got all these from the normal 2011 Topps S. 1 or 2

At least I pulled this Domonic Brown Vintage Chrome

It's the 1996 Topps Chrome style. There are 50 different and the odds are 1:8 for hobby

Another Ichiro Rookie Card

Good morning baseball card collectors.

A few days ago I received my 2001 Bowman Ichiro RC and the seller wrote in the discription that this card is a short print.

I paid 7$ for the auction and 3$ shipping to germany. That's ok I think. The card is listed for 9,99$

My question is why it should be a SP ?? It's #84 in the set.

And it finally arrived saturday. That's really hard.

4 Hobby Packs - 2011 Topps Series 2

Hallo card collectors,

i'm a little pissed off right now. I had 4 packs left over to break today.

First of all. One pack was completely damaged. Fortunately I owned 90% of the cards before.
The only card I'm a little angry about is a 60YOT-105 - Tony Gwynn (60 Years of Topps).
I don't know if it was an mistake by Topps or Dacardworld ... What ever!

Second thing is my baaad luck on this order. I had not hit in all 11 packs (8 hobby, 3 retail) expect the Buster Posey RC.

Best of my 3 packs :

A sad huhu from me here in germany. I opened 4 hobby packs of 2011 Allen Ginter and what I pulled was only crap. One card I cannot believe. Ok let's start.

btw. I have NO pricing for any Allen Ginter card yet. AG pricings are not included in the newest Beckett Baseball magazine. And eBay is too much work.

Hi ho,

I placed a collective order with some guys of a local forum at Dacardworld and received 3 packs of 2010 Upper Deck series 1. I don't like Upper Deck and the 2010 cards are not very nice. But I checked my Beckett and the only card in the series I would buy on eBay is the Buster Posey RC.

So I opened the 3 packs (Retail , 18 cards per pack) and tada in pack number 2 ... The Buster Posey Rookie Card. wuuhuuu :) And here it is . ... .

Beckett says 15 - 30 $ ... on eBay the average price is 29 $. But I wont sell it. I'm thinking about getting a TTM auto ? Anybody experience with Posey TTM ?? (comment)

Yes and the other "good" pull is a Grady Sizemore Upper Deck Portrait but the question is : Is this a Gold Portrait card or a normal card ? The gold cards are numbered to 99. But there is no numeration oO

So please let me know!! Gold is 1,4x to 4x of the basic card.

There are some hobby packs of Topps series 2 and Allen Ginter left .. I will break the today or tomorrow and will post my pulls HERE ... so stay tuned for updates.

Retail Pack Break - Series 2, Allen & Ginter - Part 3

Welcome again Baseball card fans. It's the last part of my retail pack break. 2 Allen Ginter and 3 Topps series 2 were left to break. I pulled some interesting things but again : NOTHING special ... and that sucks !

Let's begin with another Gold parallel card ... Daniel Bard

Then 2 great looking Topps 60 cards of Rickey Henderson and Mariano Rivera. First to honor his great speed and second for his 559 career saves (second most behind Trevor Hoffman with 601).

Let's continue with my favorite base card and a nice diamond variation. Prince Fielder and Ryan Sweeney ...

At least a great lokking 2003 Albert Pujols reprint (no original back)

Now it's time to show you Allen Ginter ... First I want to know what this is :

My favorite ist this David Wright (woooop wooooop METS ) Baseball Highlight Sketches card.

He was the youngest Mets player to reach 1000 hits ! (see back of the card)

Now two I wanted to scan cause they are unusual .... Mat Hoffman (BMX guy and the USS Texas)

My Conclusion :

It was a big big mistake to buy retail packs.

I spent 40$ and get NOTHING

Just a lot of base card crap and 30 dupes.

There was no Jersey or Autograph in all 16 packs.

Yes, Allen Ginter is a nice product but 6 cards per pack for this price?

Next time I'll pay 10 bucks more and buy the whole set.

Retail Pack Break - Series 2, Allen & Ginter - Part 2

What's up Baseball fans? It's time for part 2 of my retail pack break. Today I opened 4 packs of Topps series 2 and one Allen Ginter. There are some interesting pulls. Nothing special but interesting for me ...

Lets see what we have ... A Geovany Soto gold parallel .... you know it's numbered to 2011!

Now going over to the Allen Ginter pack (favorite product)

The first card was this Buster Posey .... one of my favorite young players ... unfortunately injured now.

Amazing :)

A Hometown Heroes card of Prince Fielder .... great too.

And at least a scary Mini of a house called "The Villisca Axe Murder House" (see back)

2011 Topps Series 2 - Bad Quality (only RCs?)

Good morning card collectors. Recently I pulled some cards out of Topps series 2 retail packs and I had to realize that the quality of these cards is very bad. The chrome color of 5 cards out of 4 packs is completely loose.

Another strange fact is that 3 of these cards are Rookie Cards. But why ? That makes it a lot worse for me.

Look at the picture. Can you see the difference ?

The Halladay card is normal so you can see the difference.

Take a close look at the the Tim Collins card. His position is imperceptible. (right word ? ^^)

That sucks!

How to grade this cards??? Could you tell me?

Retail Pack Break - Series 2, Allen & Ginter - Part 1

Good morning card collectors. My time to wait for my first Allen & Ginter packs is now over. I get some retail packs from Target yesterday (not the best chances for big hits) and I will show you my pulls in 3 parts.

First I opened 3 2011 Topps series 2 packs and in 2 of them I found gold parallels. The odds are 1:11 in retail and 1:9 in hobby but these 2 are the first I pulled ever and I justed bought hobby packs before.

Here they are ... Josh Beckett and Chris Heisey (Gold Parallels are numbered to 2011)

I also pulled 2 nice Kimball champion mini cards ...

Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford

At least I pulled a 1952 reprint of Yogi Berra ... but no original back!

And now my first 2 packs of Allen & Ginter ... there was nothing special in it but it's by far the best looking product this year.

How you do something like this with a photo ?? oO

a week ago I placed a little wantlist in a local card forum and just an hour after I received an offer for some great Ichiro Rookie Cards. (My favorite player) And here they are.

On the left you see the Topps RC and on the right the UD RC. Both 2001.

Ichiro was the first japanese born position player to play in the majors.

Excited for 2011 Allen & Ginter's

It's my first year of collecting Baseball Cards and for this reason I didn't know this product. After I found some 2010 cards in the web and some new 2011 cards on eBay today, I have to say that this is the most beautiful product of Topps.
I think the retail price of a pack is 2,50$ ?? Am I right?

I'm not able to say much about the product cause I have to open at least
a pack. I think in 1-2 weeks I can post some Scans from my favorite pulls.

About the product:
There are 350 base cards. Every of these cards is available as one of the following parallels:

Mini
Black Bordered
Ginter Black
No Number (?)
Bazooka 1/25
Printing Plates
Wood 1of1
150 Cards of the base set are available in "Framed Cloth" 1/10

Then there are "Code Breaker" (?) Cards, and 50 "Mini Exclusive" Cards.

The special thing about Allen & Ginter's is that there are so much different Inserts.

There are Auto/Relic cards, framed relics, dual autos, book cards and cut signatures also.

Chris Olds from Beckett said: "There are more than 5,000 unique cards in Ginter this year..."

I think it's a nice card but maybe the last of Gypsy Queen for me this year. The normal Topps series is more beautiful I think.
